Kenaf: Grow it, Recycle It! UMass Amherst Evaluates it for Use in the Paper Industry

The Center for Agriculture at UMass Amherst is growing kenaf in New England for the first time, evaluating the local potential for this eco-friendly plant. Cultivated for its fiber, kenaf can be a valuable source for recyclable paper, fodder and other sustainable materials. Faculty member Masoud Hashemi explains the project, launched in 2010.
