In the image above, the nanoscale electronic circuit test patterns in the laboratory of polymer chemist Kenneth Carter have been transferred to the surface of a PET film - the exact type of material used to make soda bottles. These patterns can be fabricated rapidly and at extremely low cost. UMass Amherst researchers are exploring ways to manufacture the next generation of advanced devices using this process, including displays, sensors, and solar panels. Learn more.
