More Offshore: New Report Makes the Case for Offshore Wind Energy
The illustration above shows floating concepts of offshore wind platforms that could enable more robust development of offshore wind technology. The concepts are from a new report, Reaching Convergence in United States Offshore Wind Energy Research, by the Massachusetts Research Partnership in Offshore Wind. Co-authored by UMass Amherst Wind Energy Center faculty, the report proposes a framework for offshore wind research and innovation in the United States. The UMass Amherst Wind Energy Center is a unique program that has distinguished the University as the national leader in wind energy education, academic research, and service to government and industry since 1972.
