Lullaby Project: New CD Makes a Big Splash

Pictured above is the cover of saxophonist, composer and arranger Felipe Salles' latest CD, The Lullaby Project and Other Works for Large Ensemble. This work has been greeted with overwhelmingly positive reviews since its release by Tapestry Records in September 2018. Salles, Associate Professor of Jazz & Afro-American Music Studies at UMass Amherst, is a native of São Paulo, Brazil, and has been performing and teaching in the U.S. since 1995. He recently received a Guggenheim Foundation Composition Fellowship to fund his ambitious multi-media project titled The New Immigrant Experience. The project combine live music and video projections into a multi-movement suite about conversations with Dreamers (children of immigrants). Learn More.
