Cycles: Everyday Materials as Art

Pictured above is a piece from the collection, "Leonardo Drew: Cycles." This collection experiments with transforming organic materials like cotton, wood, and metal into various art forms and gives them new meaning. Drew's art is reflective of Earth's natural processes, and he uses such processes- like oxidizing, decaying, and burning, to give the original materials a new life. This type of experimentation and reconstruction through destruction of these materials is something the artist is known for. This collection will be presented at The University Museum of Contemporary Art on the UMass Amherst campus. Learn more.
