For some funding opportunities, Federal agencies and Foundations limit the number of applications or nominations an institution may submit. When a call for proposals is "limited" the Office of Research Development (ORD) sends out a call for interest to the University Community. If more than the "limit" express interest, ORD uses an internal selection process to determine which application(s) will be submitted to the sponsor for funding consideration. The Office of Research Development monitors federal agency limited submission funding opportunity announcements and issues calls for applications via email to faculty on a regular basis. Please contact the Office of Research Development at ord@umass.edu if you have questions or are interested in applying to a federal limited submission program. For information on private foundation limited submission funding opportunities, please visit the UMass Amherst Foundation Relations website.
Recurring Limited Submission Funding Opportunities from Federal Sponsors
This list highlights several recurring Federal limited submission programs and provides links to program information. Submission deadlines are not included because sponsors’ program timelines can (and often do) change and/or some programs may not be offered every year. This list is also not exhaustive as sponsors develop funding opportunities to meet their programmatic goals on an ongoing basis.
