For some funding opportunities, federal agencies and foundations limit the number of applications or nominations an institution may submit. The Office of Research Development (ORD) monitors federal agency limited submission funding opportunity announcements and issues calls for applications via email to relevant UMass faculty and staff on a regular basis.
Pre-proposals are submitted via InfoReady. If ORD receives more than the allowable number of submissions, it uses an internal selection process to determine which application(s) will be submitted to the sponsor for funding consideration.
