Cost transfers have come under high scrutiny in audits. While the simplest suggestion is to prevent them altogether, in many cases they are unavoidable. This discussion will explore the federal requirements surrounding cost transfers and examine how we have implemented policies to monitor compliance and mitigate the risk associated with these types of transactions. We will discuss what you need to know to avoid some of the pitfalls associated with cost transfers, such as inadequate justifications and salary transfers that invalidate effort certification.
