In this Addendum under the STIP APS, USAID/LAB aims to accelerate LMIC capacity for high-level science, technology, and innovation by supporting partnerships between U.S. HEIs, LMIC HEIs, and other relevant public or private sector partners.

USAID, through the U.S. Global Development Lab, is seeking applications for the STIP APS - Accelerating Local Potential Addendum. This Addendum aims to accelerate the scientific potential of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) by partnering them with U.S.-based HEIs to build institutional capacity. USAID seeks innovative approaches that go beyond traditional capacity building and propose new ways to rapidly accelerate LMIC capacity for science, technology, and innovation. The primary goal of this Addendum is to propel LMIC HEIs toward becoming global leaders in scientific education and research, and increase their presence as a source of knowledge and innovation for local government officials, policy makers, industries, and other development actors.
