"Milton’s Cosmic Imagination," Collins Lecture with Kristen Poole (University of Delaware)

Kristen Poole is the Ned B. Allen Professor of English at the University of Delaware. Her research revolves around the intersection of literature, theology, and natural philosophy in early modern England. She has published extensively on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century English literature and culture, and recently published a public-facing book on a beloved contemporary novelist, Philip Pullman and the Historical Imagination: Seventeenth-Century Literature, Science, and Religion in His Dark Materials and The Book of Dust (OUP 2025). She is the General Editor of the large-scale digital project Routledge Resources Online: The Renaissance World.
