The Arthur F. Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies is open year-round from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday to Friday. We are closed on all days that the University of Massachusetts Amherst is closed. If you are visiting from afar, please call ahead to verify that we will be open on the day or days that you plan to visit.

General inquiries should be directed to: Tel: 413-577-3602 or Email: rencen@umass.edu

If you are delivering a talk at the Center:
The Center has several options for technology needs. Powerpoints can be emailed to us in advance at rencen@umass.edu or you may bring your powerpoint on a USB drive and we will arrange for a laptop to be set up. If it is more convenient to project from your own laptop (which can avoid issues with formatting of slides) we will happily accomodate that as well. Our screen attaches via HDMI. If you use a Mac please do bring an adapter as Mac is frequently changing its ports. Feel free to contact our librarian, Jeff Goodhind, at 413-577-3602 with any questions.

Turn left at the lights stay on that road, which becomes North Pleasant St. and then (without turning) East Pleasant St. The Center is 650 East Pleasant Street, about 2 miles from the center of town (specifically where rt. 9 and North Pleasant connect), on the left and a quarter mile past the police and the fire station on the right. You cannot see The Center from the road, look for a mid-sized red sign on the roadway; there is a sign for Stone House Flower Farm across the road. Turn left into our dirt driveway and come down to the two parking lots at the Center.

From the North
Take I-91 to exit 20; at the exit go to the traffic light and turn left on Damon Road. At the end of Damon Road, at the bridge, turn left again over the bridge and follow the directions above.

From the East
Take the Mass Pike (I-90) to Exit 4, go north (toward Holyoke) onto I-91 and follow the directions for those coming from the south. Those using Route 9 from the east or west will come into the center of Amherst. At the traffic light at the Common, turn north along the Common. You are on South Pleasant Street, soon to become East Pleasant Street. Follow East Pleasant Street. The Center is 650 East Pleasant Street, about 2 miles from the center of town, on the left and a quarter mile past the police and the fire station on the right. You cannot see The Center from the road, look for a mid-sized red sign on the roadway; there is a sign for Stone House Flower Farm across the road.
