Carey Lang

Carey serves as the Coordinator for Adventure Programs, bringing nearly a decade of experience spanning both the outdoor industry and higher education. With a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College and a Certificate in Outdoor Leadership from Greenfield Community College, Carey is passionate about creating meaningful outdoor experiences that help people build confidence, connection, and a deeper understanding of themselves.

 

Carey got her start in the world of higher education as the Assistant Director for the Center of the Environment at Mount Holyoke College. For the past six years, Carey has worked as a lead outdoor guide for a health and wellness resort in the Berkshires, taking guests hiking, paddling, and climbing in the ropes course, and has taught a variety of workshops from hatchet throwing to fire building. Carey is also a lifeguard through the American Red Cross, has her WEMT certification and has over 10 years of experience working as an EMT in Springfield, Holyoke and, most recently, for the fire department in her town. Whether supporting new climbers as they head out into the ropes course for the first time, leading trips into the backcountry, or using adventure-based programming as a tool for mindfulness and wellbeing, Carey loves helping others discover the excitement and possibility that comes with stepping outside their comfort zone.
