About
Brandon joined the Recreation & Wellbeing team in 2026 as a Health Promotion Specialist. Prior to UMass Amherst, he served as an Education Program Coordinator with Husky Nutrition & Sport at the University of Connecticut, where he helped develop and deliver programs focused on nutrition, physical activity, and student wellbeing. During his time at UConn, the team received the 2025 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Community Engaged Scholarship.
Previously, Brandon worked as a Health and Physical Education teacher and coached football at both the high school and collegiate levels. He also developed a coaching certification course for students at the University of Louisville.
Originally from Russellville, Arkansas, Brandon earned both his bachelor's degree and Master of Science in Strength & Conditioning Studies from Arkansas Tech University, where he was a four-year letterman on the football team. He is a certified member of the QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Program.
In his spare time, Brandon enjoys traveling, exploring New England, trying new foods, attending sporting events, and spending time with his wife, Dr. Ajhanai Keaton, their children Addison, Xaiden, and Xamir, and their dog, Onyx.
