Support for students

In addition to developing knowledge and skills that prepare them for careers as professional or technical writers, PWTC students enjoy access to the following forms of career development and support:

Portfolios — Help in developing writing samples suitable for use in job applications and interviews. In English 391C, students compile their best work as part of an online web portfolio.

Guest presentations — Opportunities to hear from practicing professionals as part of English 382's Visiting Speakers Series. Students have the chance to talk with PWTC alumni who have pursued a variety of career paths and who are at different stages in their careers.

Professional network — Access to a national professional network with a particularly strong presence in New England.

TECHWR-L | An online service for technical communicators and students in related fields. Users may access a job search engine, post resumes and subscribe to a daily summary of new jobs posted. | Offers an "IT" section that includes positions in technical writing.
