General Information
Once you declare Public Policy as your major, you will be assigned an academic advisor. You are expected to check in with your advisor regularly to know what classes you need to complete while making time to explore your interests and passions beyond the classroom. Your advisor can help you identify research, service, club, and internship opportunities in addition to offering academic support should you want to grow your time management or study skills.
Advising Appointments
- Your advisor is available in-person on the 6th floor of Thompson Hall as well as through Zoom or email.
- While you are welcome to stop by, your advisor may be working remotely or have meetings throughout the day. Setting up an appointment or sending an email can ensure that you will get the help you need quickly.
-
Academic advising appointments can be scheduled with through Navigate
If you are adding a Public Policy major or minor, you can make a meeting on Navigate under Advising. When you select the reason, you'll scroll toward the bottom of the list, where it should say "Explore how to declare or change majors." There, select Public Policy. Prospective majors should meet with an advisor. Those adding the minor must only meet with an advisor if they have questions.
