Professor Libby Sharrow (public policy and history, director of faculty research at the Institute for Social Science Research) has co-authored a new article in Political Research Quarterly entitled "The Politics of Social Categorization: The Case of Transgender Women’s Athletic Participation in the United States." Dr. Sharrow and their co-author, Jamie Druckman (University of Rochester), are working on a larger project regarding the role of public opinion in the inclusion of transgender athletes in intercollegiate athletics and its relationship to equity policy attitudes. This paper is the first published piece. The project has been supported by students in the School of Public Policy Undergrad Research Engagement Program (UREP) and by a research grant from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Research Council.
