Iran, a member of BRICS, has asked for the alliance to intervene in the ongoing war between it, the US, and Israel. However, several alliance members have been reticent to take sides, including current alliance chair India. D'Souza notes that some alliance members would see standing up as futile, saying that "...in the current geopolitical climate, any such move would have little impact on what the US and Israel are trying to achieve in Iran," D'Souza said.
