In a new article in The Diplomat titled, "India’s lagging attempts to contain pollution: Bridging the climate commitment gap," Shanthie D'Souza discusses the urgent need for India to show leadership in the Global South by making tangible progress on its climate commitments. As it enters into negotiations with the Global North, India must be able to point to domestic achievements on pollution and climate, D'Souza argues. Without successes for which to show, D'Souza believes that India risks being seen as a paper tiger.
