SPP professors Thad Miller and Ethan Zuckerman are both part of teams of UMass Amherst scholars who were recently awarded Interdisciplinary Research Grants (IRGs) from the Provost in coordination with the Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement and the Deans.
Professor Miller, along with Malcolm Sen (English), Robert DeConto (School of Earth and Sustainability), Regine Spector (Political Science), Sandy Litchfield (Architecture), and Marjorie Rubright (English), will be working on a project titled The Anthropocene Lab.
Professor Zuckerman, joined by Przemyslaw Grabowicz (Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences), Paul Musgrave (Political Science), and Brendan O'Connor (Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences), will be conducting research under the project title Analyzing Cross-country Bias in News Coverage of International Conflicts and Disasters.
