Cas Martin, MPPA 2022, has recently been included as a section contributor in the newly released FY 2024 report by the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth. In the section, titled “Uplifting Education in Schools,” Martin and co-author discuss evidence-based methods for creating safer and more supportive spaces for LGBTQ students, families, and educators. They offer seven recommendations to Governor Healey and the Massachusetts Legislature.
The publication of this report section continues the work Martin engaged in while in the School of Public Policy. His MPPA capstone, titled “LGBTQ+ Inclusive Education Policy: Evaluating Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity in Massachusetts PK-12 Public Schools,” was included in the FY 2023 recommendations of the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth. He works as the Lead Trainer for Western Massachusetts at the Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ Students.
