Associate professor Libby Sharrow (public policy and history) has co-authored an article titled "From public engagement to civically engaged research" published in a special issue of Politics, Groups, and Identities regarding civically engaged research. The article develops multiple models to guide scholars in approaching a shift towards civically engaged research from an existing commitment to public engagement. The project grew from collaborations originating during Sharrow's time as a 2023 American Political Science Association Institute for Civically Engaged Research fellow.
