Joya Misra, distinguished professor of sociology and public policy, and coauthors Jennifer Lundquist and Joanna Riccitelli released a new report titled "A Comprehensive Literature Review of Caregiving Challenges to STEMM Faculty and Institutional Approaches Supporting Caregivers." The report reviews the barriers and obstacles to gender equality faced by faculty in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine due the demands of caretaking. The report, commissioned by the Committee on Policies and Practices for Supporting Family Caregivers Working in Science, Engineering, and Medicine of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), was utilized for a recent NASEM consensus study report titled "Supporting Family Caregivers in STEMM: A Call to Action."
