Jennifier Dieringer, legal studies, was appointed to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) Advisory Board in September of this year. MCAD is the "independent state agency that enforces the Massachusetts anti-discrimination laws by investigating complaints of discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations," and Dieringer and other board members will advise the Governor on actions related to MCAD's charge.

Dieringer was also announced as a UMass Amherst Civic Engagement and Service-Learning faculty fellow for AY26-27. As part of the fellowship, Dieringer will work with colleagues and peers to "develop new experiential learning opportunities for their students in collaboration with off-campus community partners."
