Ethan Zuckerman, associate professor of public policy, communication, and information, moderated a panel titled "Where have all the bloggers gone?" to discuss the state of blogging in the age of social media at the Global Voices Kathmandu Summit on December 6. Zuckerman, who cofounded Global Voices in 2004 with Rebecca MacKinnon, was joined for the panel by experts Georgia Popplewell, Mong Palatino, Dinesh Wagle, and Aparna Ray. The conversation ranged from discussions of the rise and fall of the medium as well as its importance to empowering citizen journalists in emerging and tenuous democracies.
