David Mednicoff, Middle Eastern studies and public policy, is quoted in a new article in Boston Globe titled, "In Boston, displays of fear, celebration over US-Israeli attacks on Iran." Mednicoff expresses both skepticism and confusion towards the American/Israeli approach to the war, calling it "tone deaf" to start the war during the month of Ramadan and arguing that the Trump administration failed to make a case to the American people on the necessity of a war that has already claimed the lives of US service members and Iranian civilians.
Mednicoff was also featured discussing the same topic at Masslive. He indicated that he did not expect the war to result in democratic outcomes: “Bombing a country doesn’t help with politics... A real challenge here is that there is no real relationship between starting a war like this and shepherding some kind of political outcome.”
