On Tuesday, April 14, School of Public Policy students met with several UMass alumni working as congressional staffers and lobbyists to discuss career paths, the nature of working in a congressional office, and other lessons from their careers. Liz Quigley (Deputy Chief of Staff/District Director, Congressman Neal), Holly Kusy (District Senior Representative, Congressman McGovern), Mike Jackman (District Director, Congressman Keating), and Joe Donovan (lobbyist, founder of Donovan Strategies) spent the day meeting with students from UMass Women Into Leadership (UWiL) and SPP's undergraduate and graduate programs to shed light on what it is like to work both "on the hill" and in the district, discuss how their academic backgrounds helped them prepare for their roles, and network with students in informal, small group settings.
A sincere thank you our visitors for spending their time sharing their wisdom with the next generation of public servants.
