Brian Sargent, sociology and public policy, has been named a 2026-27 Lilly Fellow for Teaching Excellence by the UMass Amherst Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). Sargent is one of eight UMass Amherst faculty members in this year's cohort. The Lilly Fellowship began in 1986 and supports faculty by "developing academic leaders in the area of teaching."
