In her American Sociological Association (ASA) presidential address titled, "Sociological Solutions: Building Communities of Hope, Justice, and Joy," Joya Misra, distinguished professor of sociology and public policy and ASA president, calls for making solution-oriented, community-engaged, and participatory research more central in the discipline of sociology.
