The DACSS program regularly offers two options for the final core course -- a research/capstone project (required for MS in DACSS students).  These two courses provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to generate strong, data-driven communication.

DACSS 684: Advanced Data-Driven Storytelling

How can social scientists convey data through narrative and reports geared toward general audiences or specific stakeholders? How can they convey those data through visuals geared toward non-scientists? This hands-on course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to generate strong, data-driven communication.

Please note that DACSS 684 is only offered online in fall and spring semesters.

DACSS 698R: Practicum - Research Laboratory

This course is run as a capstone project/research lab with weekly meetings to share progress and suggestions.  Guest speakers will be invited to meet with students to share projects and seek collaboration.  Larger projects may require group work.

Please note that DACSS 698R is only offered in-person in fall and spring semesters.
