Position Description:
The Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has partnered with the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) to conduct a national analysis exploring how hospital governance structures influence investment in digital technologies that support nursing practice.
This research builds on CHIME’s national survey of health IT executives, which captures data from hundreds of hospitals on topics such as innovation governance, stakeholder representation, and investment in workforce technologies. The dataset offers a unique opportunity to analyze how including nurses in technology decision-making impacts hospitals’ adoption of tools that improve nurse staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
Design
This is a cross-sectional, secondary data analysis using CHIME’s national survey dataset of hospital information technology executives. Statistical analyses will include descriptive, bivariate, and multivariate (logistic regression) models to examine associations between governance structures, evaluation frameworks, and investment decisions.
