Every student in our MS in DACSS, MPP, and MPPA program works with our dedicated team of advisors to help develop and sharpen the competencies needed to further develop their career. Professional Development Courses
Every graduate student at the School of Public Policy takes a career and professional development courses focused on gaining or sharpening your job-seeking skills. In addition to sessions on writing resumes and cover letters, interviewing, and internships, students get opportunities to meet alumni who are working in a variety of careers at the intersection of data, government, nonprofits, and more.
Students in the MS in DACSS take DACSS 691P - Polishing your Professional Presence, and students in the MPP and MPPA take PUBPOL 614 - Professional Development Seminar. Both are taught by our experienced advising team.
Networking and Career Exploration Trips
Our semesterly career exploration trips help connect our students with policymakers, industry experts, and organizations in Boston, New York City, Washington D.C., and beyond. Students expand their professional networks, explore diverse career opportunities, and gain insight into the work being done on the ground. We also host virtual visits specifically for our online and hybrid students, connecting them directly with policymakers and our geographically diverse alumni network.
