Lydia Reader is a lecturer of Data Analytics and Computational Social Science (DACSS) program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She teaches Essential Math for Applied Data Science, and Agent-Based Modeling for Social Complexity Research.

Lydia has a PhD in the Division of Computational and Data Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis. Her research is at the intersection of computational methodologies, complex systems science, and Public Health. She uses tools like Agent Based Modeling to promote theoretical exploration of Public Health topics such as physical activity, aging, and nutrition. Her dissertation is on the interaction between walkability, suburbanization, and childhood physical activity.

Model of Aging and Population Dynamics: Building an agent-based model to understand how aging affects population dynamics in C.elegans. 

House Filtering in St. Louis, Missouri: Analyzing home sales data from the Multiple Listing Service to detect evidence of homes becoming more affordable over time. Utilizing repeat sales model for analysis.

Agent-Based Model for GROW Tria: Developing an agent-based to explore environmental and social causes of childhood physical activity and physical activity disparities.
