Degree & graduation year: 4+1 Master of Public Policy, 2023

What I do: The position of visiting fellow at the WMPC is focused on using lived experience, practical skills, grassroots organizing, education, and community engagement to center and empower BIPOC and others who have been oppressed in the policy field.

How I ended up working there: I found this position through a referral from a professor.

The best part of my job: I love how the WMPC emphasizes centering people of color and others with marginalized identities in policy. Those who have marginalized identities might face the brunt of a lot of policy issues and are too often disregarded in the policy field when issues deeply affect them.

How the School of Public Policy prepared me for my career: SPP prepared me for this role and career by equipping me with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the policy field.
