Hometown: Westford, MA

Degree and graduation year: MPA, 2024

Where I interned: Fat Moon Mushrooms

What I am doing there: Working alongside the marketing department to improve internal organization and communications and outwardly promoting the importance of sustainable, organic farming in Massachusetts.

The most important thing I am learning: Working alongside the marketing department to improve internal organization and communications and outwardly promoting the importance of sustainable, organic farming in Massachusetts.

The most challenging part of my internship: Understanding that making mistakes is part of the learning process. And, that constructive feedback is helpful and a sign that your supervisor trusts you are capable of improving.

What surprised me the most: How incredibly supportive my team and supervisors have been! I feel honored to work alongside folks that are eager to answer my questions, provide networking opportunities, and always take me seriously even though I am the youngest person there!

Why I’m studying public policy: I am excited to explore the public and nonprofit management side of the MPA program. I want to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be an empathetic and ethical leader in the nonprofit and public sectors.

Future plans: To keep learning and growing as a student and person, and to promote sustainable and accessible approaches to health and wellbeing in whichever field I enter!
