David E. Sullivan is the elected Northwestern District Attorney and has served since 2011.  He is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Hampshire and Franklin counties, and the town of Athol.  

As District Attorney, Sullivan has embraced a community prosecution model that blends smart and fair prosecutions, crime prevention, law enforcement partnerships and community collaboration to build safer communities throughout Hampshire and Franklin counties and the town of Athol.  He Co-Founded the Western Massachusetts Veterans Treatment Court, the Opioid Task Force of Franklin County and North Quabbin, and the Northwestern DA Drug Diversion and Treatment Program, among many other progressive initiatives.

Prior to serving as District Attorney, Sullivan was the Chief Administrator for Hampshire Probate & Family Court, Easthampton City Attorney, and a Criminal Defense Attorney.

Sullivan graduated from University of Massachusetts, Isenberg School of Business, in 1981 and earned his Juris Doctorate from Northeastern School of Law in 1986.
