Title: Doctoral Candidate

Institution: Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California

Degree & graduation year: Master of Public Policy and Administration, 2022

What I do: I study the design and use of emerging technologies and digital infrastructure in humanitarian governance and migration/border control.

The best part of my work: Learning from and working with brilliant minds from across the world.

A recent exciting experience: I recently presented a research paper titled "The Turn to Disruptive Innovation: A Case Study of the UNHCR" at the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) conference, which was held in Cholula, Mexico.

How the School of Public Policy prepared me for my career: SPP helped me gain invaluable professional skills and broadened my understanding of national and transnational policy ecosystems -- both of which have been so crucial in my research and professional life

Advice to students considering a degree in public policy: You can never go wrong with a public policy degree, given that policy permeates fundamental aspects of almost every public or private institution.

Future plans: Being able to make practical contributions to social change through my research and other academic endeavors.
