Efforts to promote public support gather momentum
University students, professional and support staff, and faculty are participating in a variety of efforts aimed at building support around the state for the Amherst campus in the coming fiscal year and beyond.

Declaration result of faculty and librarian forum
Approximately 120 faculty and librarians gathered to discuss the impact of budget cuts on the University at a Feb. 21 forum.

Burn remembered as a leader in international education
Barbara B. Burn, associate provost for International Programs and a world leader in international education, died Feb. 24 unexpectedly at her Leverett home at the age of 76.

Associate professor of Electrical Engineering dies
Haluk Derin, 57, of Amherst, an associate professor of Electrical Engineering, died Feb. 24 at home. He had served the University for nearly 20 years.

RA union vote set for March 5
Resident assistants and community development assistants will decide whether to unionize in a vote scheduled for March 5.

Senior honored by USA Today
Helena Horak, a senior majoring in Biochemistry and Biology, has been named to the First Team of the All-USA College Academic Team by USA Today.
