  Panel supports benefits for trust-fund staff
A legislative committee on Tuesday endorsed a bill to extend early retirement incentives to state employees paid through trust funds.

Some deductions to vary under biweekly payroll
When the new e*mpac Human Resources system, known to most employees as PeopleSoft, is launched on March 4, employee paychecks will include two weeks' pay and two weeks worth of deductions, according to Juan A. Jarrett, assistant vice chancellor for Human Resources.

OIT shuts 3 computer labs
Citing low use rates and campus budget cuts, the Office of Information Technologies closed three computer labs of its 12 computer labs and classrooms at the beginning of the semester.

Microsoft funds center for women in engineering
The College of Engineering will open and dedicate the Microsoft Center for Women in Engineering and Science on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. in 34 Marston Hall.
