Faculty Senate changes meeting schedule
The Faculty Senate meeting scheduled for Thursday,
Nov. 16 has been canceled, but an additional meeting has been
set for Thursday, Dec. 7 at
3:30 p.m. in 227 Herter Hall.
TIAA-CREF retirement counseling sessions
TIAA-CREF is offering individual retirement
counseling sessions on Thursday, Nov. 16, 9 a.m.- 3:15 p.m. in
901 Lincoln Campus Center.
Employees with questions about the Optional Retirement Program,
tax-deferred annuities or retirement savings are welcome to attend.

Blood drives
The Hampshire County Chapter of the American
Red Cross is conducting blood drives on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 10:30
a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Student Union and Thursday, Nov. 16, 1-7
p.m. in John Adams Tower, Southwest.
Copier to trade
The Department of Civil and Environmental
Engineering has a CANON NP2120 copier to trade for 20 reams of
paper. The copier's top loading feature does not work, but the
trade includes extra toner cartridges.
The machine must be picked up in 214 Marston Hall.

MBA Professional Program hosts open house
The Isenberg School of Management's MBA Professional
Program is holding an open house on Monday, Nov. 13, 5:30-7 p.m.,
at the Chestnut Building Conference Center at Baystate Medical
Center in Springfield.

Veterans' Day holiday
Veterans' Day will be observed as a state
holiday on Saturday, Nov. 11.
According to the Division of Human Resources, Massachusetts General
Laws, Chapter 4, Section 7, Clause Eighteen, state that legal
holidays that fall on a Saturday shall be observed on that day.
The campus must remain open on the Friday preceding any Saturday
holiday. However, as many employees as possible should be given
that Friday off. Employees assigned to work shall be given an
additional day off as law and applicable collective bargaining
agreements allow. Whenever possible the following Monday should
be used as the alternative day off.
For Time and Attendance reporting, any employee who is given the
Friday as their day off for the Veterans' Day holiday does not
need to report the absence. Employees who work on Friday, Nov.
10, should be reported as Holiday Time Worked (HTW) on the Time
and Attendance report for the number of hours they worked that
day.
Undergraduate Catalog Deadline is Dec. 1
Contributors to the 2001-02 Undergraduate
Catalog should submit their
revisions no later than Friday, Dec. 1 to: University Editor,
University
Publications, Munson Hall, 5-0123.
Digital service and wide-format printing available
Photographic Services offers a variety of
digital imaging services for all research, academic, marketing,
Web and publication needs. Services include 35mm slides and negatives,
scans to disc, large format printing (posters/banners), CD burning,
image restoration, UMass stock images and photographic prints.
PowerPoint slides, PDF and EPS files can be e-mailed directly
to the office ([email protected]).

Molecular Genetics and Microbiology seminar
Amrie Grammer will discuss "CD40 Engagement
on Human B Lymphocytes Includes NF-KB Activation by TRAF-Dependent
and Independent Signal Pathways" on Friday, Nov. 10 at 12:15
p.m. in the MGM Seminar Room, S5-310 of the Medical School in
Worcester.
Grammer is on the staff of the National Institute of Arthritis
and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases at the National Institutes
of Health.
