Katherine Dixon-Gordon, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she teaches courses on emotion and psychopathology and supervises clinicians in training. She received her BS from the University of Washington, her MA and PhD from Simon Fraser University, and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and GV Sonny Montgomery VAMC. Her clinical and research interests focus on the role of emotion dysregulation in psychiatric conditions such as borderline personality disorder (BPD), self-injury, and other risky or impulsive behaviors. Dr. Dixon-Gordon has extensive training and experience in cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches, and specializes in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She has worked with adults, adolescents, and couples struggling with a variety of problems, including personality disorders, PTSD, substance use, eating disorders, and anxiety and mood disorders.

In July 2016, Dr. Christopher Martell was welcomed as the Clinic Director of the Psychological Services Center and a lecturer in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at UMass Amherst. Dr. Martell has practiced empirically based treatments over the past 25 years. He has worked as a research therapist on three NIMH-funded clinical trials and has been a research consultant on psychotherapy treatment development and outcome studies using behavioral activation (BA) for depression in the U.S., U.K., and the Netherlands. Furthermore, he has conducted and contributed to the development of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)-affirmative CBT with adults. Dr. Martell is the first author of three books: Depression in Context: Strategies for Guided Action with Michael Addis, Ph.D. and Neil S. Jacobson, Ph.D. (2001), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies with Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Clients, with Steven Safren, Ph.D. and Stacey, Prince, Ph.D. (2004), and Behavioral Activation for Depression: A Clinician’s Guide (2010), with Sona Dimidjian, Ph.D. and Ruth Herman-Dunn, Ph.D. He has co-authored five other books, including: Overcoming Depression One Step at a Time: The New Behavioral Activation Approach to Getting Your Life Back (2004), with Michael Addis. Additionally, he has published in peer reviewed journals and contributed chapters to edited textbooks. His work has been translated into 7 languages. He has trained and supervised therapists around the world. Dr. Martell received his Ph.D. in clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University in 1988. He is board certified in Clinical Psychology, and in Behavioral & Cognitive Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Rebecca Ready is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Division of the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, and Division Head and Director of Clinical Training. Dr. Ready studies emotion and cognition in aging adults and in populations with neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease. She is interested in the interface between cognition and emotion in aging and how persons maintain life quality in the face of both minor and significant challenges. Current projects aim to discern associations between emotion regulation and memory, as well as increases in alexithymia with age. Other projects pertain to outcomes assessment after neuropsychological evaluations for ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Dr. Ready received her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, and completed Internship and Post-Doctoral Residency in Clinic Neuropsychology at Brown Medical School. Dr. Ready is a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist and her expertise is in psychological and neuropsychological assessment. She is also a member of the Neuroscience and Behavior Program at the University of Massachusetts. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in neuroscience, neuropsychology, and psychological assessment.

Rebecca M. Stowe, PhD is a lecturer in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and a Clinical Supervisor in the Psychological Services Center. Dr. Stowe specializes in child and adolescent clinical psychology. She is particularly interested in disruptive behavior disorders in young children, assessment and treatment of ADHD, parenting issues, parent-child relationships, and the use of cognitive-behavioral interventions with children and families. Dr. Stowe earned her BA from the University of Maine and her MS and PhD from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at UMass Medical School/Worceser State Hospital and a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology at Baystate Medical Center.

Michael J. Constantino, PhD is a Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he directs his Psychotherapy Research Lab, teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on theories and techniques of psychotherapy, and supervises clinicians-in-training. Dr. Constantino’s primary scientific contributions include: (1) developing and testing effective therapeutic interventions; (2) investigating therapist, patient, and interpersonal processes that influence patients’ psychosocial treatment outcomes; (3) developing practice-research networks and studying routine outcomes monitoring systems; and (4) conducting translational research at the intersection of social/interpersonal and clinical constructs. Dr. Constantino has published both theoretical and empirical work in leading journals and books in the field, and he has received both internal and external grant support for his research. Among many positions served and honors received, Dr. Constantino is Past-President of the North American Society for Psychotherapy Research. He also maintains a small private psychotherapy practice with adult outpatients.

Tim Hope, PhD, an adjunct instructor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Health Service Provider in private practice. He is a Clinical Supervisor at the Psychological Services Center. He received his Ph.D. from Penn State University and completed his pre- and post-doctoral training at the Worcester Youth Guidance Center at UMassMemorial Health Care. He also has been intensively-trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, served as a DBT Resource Team trainer and consultant for the State of Connecticut, and served as a Clinical Supervisor for the University of Hartford. Dr. Hope is actively involved in his work as a psychotherapist, psychological assessor, teacher, supervisor, and consultant.
