The Graduate Student Diversity Committee Undergraduate Mentoring Program matches undergraduate students with a graduate student or postdoc mentor. The mentor and mentee meet throughout the year to discuss things like getting involved in research, work-life balance, study skills, time management, navigating school with an underrepresented identity, and applying for internships, jobs, and graduate school.
The frequency of meetings is decided on between the mentor and mentee, with most pairings meeting twice per month. This program prioritizes providing mentors to students from underrepresented backgrounds especially first-generation college students, but the program is open to all students in PBS. We match mentors and mentees at the beginning of the fall semester. If you have any questions, please reach out to the committee at @email
