How do companion animal relationships contribute to our scientific understanding of what goes right in the lives of youth? Dr. Mueller will discuss the science of human-animal interactions and adolescent development, and how we can understand the role of the human-animal bond in promoting youth well-being.

Dr. Megan Mueller is an Associate Professor of human-animal interaction at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She is also director of the Pets and Well-Being(PAW) Lab and faculty at the Center for Animals and Public Policy at Tufts University. Dr. Mueller is a developmental scientist who studies the complex and dynamic relationships between people and animals. Dr. Mueller’s research interests include companion animals and adolescent development, with a focus on positive youth development and teenagers experiencing social anxiety.
