Please save the date and join us to celebrate the amazing life and work of Dr. Bernhard Leidner, a social psychologist who spent half of his 39 years of life conducting research on intergroup relations, and a beloved member of the UMass Amherst community. Berni will be remembered by friends and colleagues at a full day Celebration of Life that will honor not only his scholarship and mentorship, but also his humor and perseverance.
Date: May 5th, 8:30am - 6:00pm EST
Location: Old Chapel, 144 Hicks Way, UMass Amherst
Highlights of the event will include a few words from Berni's undergrad mentor Dr. Bettina Hanonver (Freie Universitat Berlin), as well as talks by Berni's grad school mentor Dr. Emanuele Castano (University of Trento, Italy), his first graduate student Dr. Mengyao Li (Queen's University Belfast), close friends and collaborators Dr. Gilad Hirschberger (Reichman University, Israel) and Dr. Charli Carpenter (UMass Amherst, Political Science), former graduate students Dr. Nima Orazani (Carleton University, Canada) and Dr. Hema Preya Selvanathan (The University of Queensland, Australia).
