Neil Carlson

Neil Carlson is Professor Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research focused on the role of the limbic system in learning and species-typical behavior. He received his undergraduate degree and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana.
In addition to writing Psychology: The Science of Behavior, Dr. Carlson is also the author of two best-selling behavioral neuroscience textbooks Physiology of Behavior (currently in its tenth edition) and Foundations of Physiological Psychology (currently in its seventh edition). His books have been translated into eight languages.
