What happens when people say critical things about their country and group? Do people tend to respond well to them? While it is important to listen to criticisms to improve decision making, people don't always respond well to people who criticize the groups that they are part of. In one line of research, I am investigating the conditions under which people respond poorly and well, and how that depends on the identity of the critic.
In a second line of research, I am looking at how reading about how everyone suffers in the conflict affects beliefs that one's own group has suffered more than others in a conflict (competitive victimhood) and people's actions in the conflict.
I am also interested in the moral hazard and economic inequality.
