Help protect housing in MA!

October 14, 2020

The housing crisis in MA is about to get worse--the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures expires this week. This moratorium has helped keep 100,000 plus families in their homes during this crisis, and since the crisis is far from over, we need that moratorium to continue.

You can join in an action Wednesday October 14, to send a message to Governor Baker that we need him to extend the moratorium now!  If we don't push Governor Baker to act now on the housing crisis, we risk an even greater level of despair, loss, and death for our students, coworkers, and neighbors. The Housing Stability Act is the only proposal that will prevent mass evictions and foreclosures by protecting renters, helping homeowners, and stabilizing small-scale landlords.

Join together with housing justice organizations, educators, community groups, organized labor, faith communities, environmental justice activists, and allies from every sector to win housing stability as a basic building block for social and economic justice and an equitable recovery. There will be on foot socially distant marching as well as a car caravan. An online Zoom will also be available with details to come.

Join the march: Meet at Red Rock Park, Lynn, MA at 5:00 pm.
Join the car caravan: Meet at North Shore Community College parking lot at 5:00 pm. (But please join the march if you can do so safely.)
