Strategic Initiatives: Undergraduate Student Success

In support of the UMass Amherst For the Common Good strategic plan, the Division of Academic Affairs and the Office of the Provost will work to bolster undergraduate student success and narrow achievement gaps.

Investigate and identify barriers to success, developing and deploying student success initiatives

    Use evidence-based approaches to identify practices and policies that hinder student progress and implement responsive curricular and instructional interventions.

  • Engage the National Institute for Student Success (NISS) to assess and, based on findings, improve student support systems and wraparound services.
  • Bolster current, and develop and deploy new, student success initiatives – including advanced learning analytics.
