Strategic Initiatives: Campus Culture

In support of the UMass Amherst For the Common Good strategic plan, the Division of Academic Affairs and the Office of the Provost will work to improve campus culture for faculty, students, and staff.

Diverse classroom conversation
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, open dialogue, mutual respect, open inquiry, and viewpoint diversity across campus
  • Support and actively participate in the Community, Democracy, and Dialogue initiative and Intergroup Dialogue Initiative
  • Collaborate on coordinating efforts to ensure the resiliency and sustainability of inclusive excellence across campus.
  • Support the UMass Amherst commitment to the Okanagan charter 
  • Promote the development of Classroom Equity Action Plans 
  • Expand Provost and leadership outreach to build relationships with departments and faculty.
