Strategic Initiatives: Academic Enterprise Stewardship

• Examine tuition models for undergraduate and revenue-generating masters programs to optimize and balance academic resources and accessibility.
• Partner with the campuswide teaching load taskforce to assess faculty teaching workloads and provide guidance in support of equitable course assignment and enrollment policies.
• Partner with the registrar, and schools and colleges to optimize teaching schedule and classroom use to ensure equitable access for students to courses they need and best available instructional spaces.
• Develop an integrated strategy to support and deliver digital, lifelong, and interdisciplinary programs on and off campus
• Map current cross-campus structures that support the development, delivery, and management of current and future lifelong, digital, and interdisciplinary studies and programs
• Map current and future academic offerings that meet the diverse needs of non-traditional and 21^st century learners on and off campus (e.g., degree completion, certificates, online programs, pipeline programs, stackable credentials, upskilling bootcamps, etc.)
• Model developing a unified, integrated, service-oriented, and financially sustainable operational unit to deliver programs that exist outside or at an intersection of schools and colleges.
• Assess and expand utilization of the Charles River Campus (CRC) of UMass Amherst
• Assess progress toward goals of the current CRC strategy, identify challenges and assess synergies to be gained from updating and aligning plans with campus strategic plan.
• Engage CRC leadership to ensure an updated CRC strategic plan is integrated as core to the campuswide plan in terms of goals, strategies, and supports.
• Expand offerings and develop opportunities at CRC, including Career Launch, LEAD, and internship programs.
