In spring 2023, UMass Amherst announced Canvas will become the official learning management system (LMS) for on-campus and online courses.

From Moodle & Blackboard to Canvas
- Moodle and Blackboard will no longer be available after the Spring 2025 semester, with students losing access on June 9, 2025, and instructors losing access on July 1, 2025. Before the platforms are no longer available, take action to preserve course content and files.
- Canvas transition support and training opportunities are available in person and virtual, one-on-one and in groups.
